A Great Holiday Weekend

What a fine Thanksgiving. Worked Friday through Sunday, mostly with a hangover. Still, with the way the hours are looking, I should know before Christmas whether the bonus is happening or not - so it might even be possible to take a full week off then and still hit bonus.

What would I do with a week off? I think I might go stir crazy.

A Surname is Not Enough

Eli Manning. You're a clown. A total ass-clown. You couldn't figure out Vandy's secondary while you were at Ole Miss, and you think you can play in the pros? Everyone worships you because your brother is a great player, and your Dad was pretty good too. You pulled your whiny shit on draft day and tried to dictate where you would play - anyone with any other name would have been vilified in the press, but the sainted Eli Manning is still the golden boy. You suck.

Sad the things that make me happy

We just got a new phone system at work - it seems like corporate America is adopting VOIP, so I guess I should do it at home.

Anyway, the wonderful thing is that out of the 40 or so options for ring, there is one entitled 24. And lo and behold, it is indeed the chirp from the TV series that all the CTU phones have. So now my humdrum, motion writing, discovery based life can be sent into fantasies of saving DC from attack anytime someone calls me...

Let's see if we can do this

I really don't know if I am going to post regularly here. All I can say is that it seems like a good idea, and if work schedule permits, I will try to muse on a somewhat regular basis. It's good for the soul I would imagine.

Why am I here again?

Because the motion hasn't been filed yet. And needs to be edited by the partner. Oh well, I might take a day off in the week as a treat.

The Villa are back

7 games into the season, and still unbeaten. OK, there are 4 draws there, but that includes away games at Arsenal, and today's great performance to get a 1-1 draw at Chelski.

From the reports, Villa can be considered unlucky not to have got three points against Arsenal and West Ham too.

I know it's early in the season, and I know they have hurt me before, but a spot in Europe next year has to be a target. And with Lerner's money to spend in January, and Martin O'Neill's football acumen, things might be looking up finally.

Why am I here?

It depends where here is. If here is cyberspace, I have been meaning to start a blog for a while now, and I finally tried to post a comment to a friend's blog, only to discover I had to register first. So here I am. I'm not sure how often, if at all, I will post here, but we shall see.

If here, on the other hand, is sat at a computer, it is because I am in the office. On Saturday afternoon. 9 minutes after my friend's wedding started 200 or so miles away. Unfortunately, he would not rearrange it until after the deadline for Daubert motions had passed, so I am missing it.
